Iron Man 2 (May 7)

Tony Stark is back -- and this time, he's brought Mickey Rourke (as the grizzled baddie Whiplash) and Scarlett Johansson (as a permed redhead who likes to wear really tight clothes) along for the action, which has something to do with an alien virus that makes Terrence Howard look exactly like Don Cheadle. Wait -- that's not it. Really, "Iron Man 2" offers another round of industrial espionage crossed with armored dudes blowing stuff up, all delivered with the same sense of giddy fun that director Jon Favreau brought to the first installment. And would you expect anything less?

Robin Hood (May 14)

It's been through a name change, a plot change, and a few rounds of negative rumors, all while incubating during a development cycle that lasted so long some of us wondered whether Ridley Scott's take on what went down in Nottingham would ever arrive in theaters. Well, good news -- Russell Crowe is finally toting his bow and arrow into theaters. Now the only question is whether he'll hit the mark hard enough to push "Iron Man 2" out of the top spot at the box office. Take a look at this trailer -- who do you think will be at #1 when the totals come out May 16?

MacGruber (May 21)

Yep, the "MacGyver"-spoofing sketch from "SNL" really is getting its own feature film. But don't stick your head in the oven just yet: "MacGruber" is said to be aiming for a "hard R" rating, thanks to an unapologetically filthy script from director Jorma Taccone (The Lonely Island) and star Will Forte, and the storyline pits the intrepid/idiotic MacGruber against Val Kilmer as the villainous Dieter Von Cunth. And did we mention Ryan Phillippe rounds out the supporting cast alongside Kristen Wiig? You might see better movies this year, but it's hard to imagine a stranger collection of talents.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (May 28)

FINALLY, noted Persian actor Jake Gyllenhaal gets the starring role he so richly...wait, what? Well, hey, even if he isn't exactly Persian, at least Gyllenhaal is a decent actor -- and he clearly took his role in this big-budget epic seriously enough to hit the gym. As to whether that'll be enough to defeat the curse (and bad scripts, bad direction, and bad acting) that sinks most video game adaptations, that's another question. But dig that trailer. Ain't it pretty?
