The cuisine in Brussels is diverse as its residents, with just about every type of food represented by one restaurant or another. The finest restaurants in Brussels are as expensive as any in Europe, but many of the neighborhood spots offer great value. The country is known for its chocolate, waffles, fries (with mayonnaise) and beer, so be sure to make time to try all four during your visit. There are several shops near the Grand-Place that serve waffles with a delicious dark chocolate topping.
