Ellen Page is in the same age range – and has been around as long as – Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, and Vanessa Hudgens. And while all three of these women are talented in their own right, Ellen knows the score of the game. Inspired by the likes of such actresses as Kate Winslet, Ellen (at the age of 20) has already amassed a body of work that suggests someone who, as her character Juno says, is “beyond her maturity level.”

Ellen was born on February 21, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was 10 when she made her debut in the Canadian TV movie “Pit Pony,” and by the time she was in her early teens she was a recurring character on the comedy series “Trailer Park Boys.” Numerous supporting appearances in indie films followed before “ReGenesis,” the Canadian Sci-Fi series in which she was Lilith Sandstrom for eight episodes. “Hard Candy” followed and to many, Ellen Page instantly came out of nowhere. She shaves her head in “Mouth to Mouth” before becoming the third actress to play Kitty Pryde in “X-Men: The Last Stand,” an interesting turn for her as it’s the only remote blockbuster in her career.  It is clear Ellen’s best work has yet to come. And as she further matures, there promises to be many roles with her as a title or main character – a beacon of proof that a strong, interesting female character raises the quality of movies to great heights.

Ellen on the Screen

Ellen developed her acting chops during her youth and early teen years on Canadian television and film. Her breakout role was as Hayley Stark in “Hard Candy” in 2005. Roles in "Mouth to Mouth" and "X-Men: The Last Stand" followed, with a breakout performance in the indie gem "Juno" sending her shooting into the A-list. Since then, Ellen has appeared in such films as "Smart People," "Whip It," and Christopher Nolan's sci-fi blockbuster, "Inception."

Ellen Says

On vocalizing her beliefs:
